The railcar was coupled to an Orenstein & Koppel locomotive. Originally, it was used to transport quarried material at the Ein Harod quarry.

After its service at the quarry ended, the railway equipment was transferred to the Ein Harod yard. The railcars were converted by Michael “Avad” for passenger transportation.
