Mercedes Selekta typewriter, manufactured circa 1938, by Mercedes Buromaschinen Werke AG, Berlin, Germany. This is a portable machine that was packed in a wooden box here only the base of the box remains. The machine is made of shiny black lacquered metal. It has a German keyboard consisting of four rows and a double shift key on both sides of the keyboard marked with "UM", plus 9 numbers and more auxiliary keys. On both sides of the letters fan, appears inside a rhombus the letters "MB" which are the initials of the machine name. On both sides of the letters fan there are compartments for the ink ribbon rollers, the compartment covers slide to the sides to open. The paper is inserted behind the upper roll and advanced by rolling the roll using the wheels on both sides of the roll.
